Welcome to the Croydon Headteachers’ Association (CHTA) website.

.
CHTA was founded to provide networking, support and training to the Head teachers of educational providers in Croydon – whatever their organisational status. Our membership draws from colleagues in nurseries, children’s centres, special schools, primary schools, secondary schools, colleges and all forms of alternative provision across the borough.

Our motto is ‘Leading Learning in Croydon’ because that is at the centre of everything we do in each of our institutions every day.

Our mission is to support excellent educational leadership in the borough leading to improved outcomes and life chances for all our young people, regardless of their circumstances.

After a long period of planning the CHTA became a 40% stakeholder in the Octavo Partnership in April 2015.  Octavo is a company set up to deliver school improvement services in Croydon and beyond.  Together with Croydon Council and the staff of the company we have created a ‘one stop’ service supporting schools in their drive to be outstanding.

Thank you for your interest in CHTA – please get in touch if we can assist you further.

President (2018-19)

CHTA Business Managers event re: cashless catering solution

Starts at 14:00

Many schools in Croydon have been through a huge number of changes since the central school dinners contract ended some years ago.  Various caterers have been appointed as well as payment providers and cashless till companies like ‘Cunninghams’ or ‘NRS’.  However, now many of these systems in primary schools in Croydon are approaching end of life and Croydon schools are looking around for a new solution.  A number of Croydon schools have been trialling a new to market system that has been proving successful in terms of reducing debt collection and the complexity of the whole booking and payment process as a till solution is incorporated into the product.  If business managers are interested in seeing how this works in practice then we are holding a demonstration session on Tuesday 27th November at 2:00pm at Whitehorse Manor – Brigstock site:

This session is free to attend and will be facilitated by staff at The Pegasus Academy Trust and the provider Magic Booking.  Please call Angela Ramsey on 020 8684 3929 to confirm your attendance.
