GLA Research Project on Building the Leadership Pool in London Schools

The GLA has commissioned research into interventions that could be made to increase London’s pool of future headteachers and school leaders. This work is on behalf of a pan-London group of education organisations and interests including ALDCS and HOSI.

On International Women’s Day

International Women’s Day was celebrated in an increasing number of countries with many events to focus attention upon some stark figures: there remains a 17.5% average pay gap between men and women in the UK; only 1 in 4 MPs are female; and women are still very much under-represented in the nation’s boardrooms. Sir Michael Wilshaw delivers Annual Report to Ofsted

Her Majesty’s Chief Inspector, Sir Michael Wilshaw’s has delivered his Annual Report speech to launch Ofsted’s 2013/14 annual reports for schools and FE and skills. He describes a “less positive” outlook than last year and reports that whilst primaries are improving, improvement in secondary schools has stalled and the FE sector is failing to deliver courses that give young people the skills required for employment.
