Our school has been recently redeveloped, winning numerous awards for the architecture. In addition to this, we have been awarded various other awards: Sports’ Activemark, Healthy Schools, International School Award, Science Quality Mark and the Basic Skills Quality Mark.

We are fortunate enough to have our own swimming pool on site and this is well utilised by all pupils, who receive a swimming lesson each week from Reception through to Year 6. Consequently, pupils leave The Hayes with a good level of swimming ability and often enjoy success at the various swimming galas along the way. We also have a pond, a gardening area, a spacious field as well as a large playground.

We are proud of our many achievements; academic standards remain high and all pupils are encouraged to strive for their best, through carefully planned learning opportunities, provided by an excellent team of staff. We also ensure that children have a rich and broad curriculum with sport, music, art and drama featuring prominently. We have recently begun to offer a breakfast club, which has proved to be immensely popular. We also offer a range of extra-curricular clubs throughout the age groups, which include a wide range of activities such as Arts and Crafts, Spanish, French, football, netball, taekwondo, gymnastics, choir, wake up fit club, tennis, lacrosse, music and movement and Lexia. Clubs are offered before school, during lunchtime as well as after school. As members of the Croydon Sports’ Partnership, pupils have the opportunity to participate in a range of inter-school competitions and tournaments.

We are proud of the links that we have between home and school and we know that children’s learning clearly benefits from this effective partnership. Some of the ways that we partner with parents are through a monthly newsletter, weekly bulletin, termly open afternoons, parent-teacher interviews, annual reports and parent questionnaires. We are also a listening school, and actively encourage parents and children to come and see us if they have any concerns. We value feedback from our community as we strive to make our school the best it can be.

We welcome visitors to our school so please contact us if you would like to come and view our school.
